I quite like this style, but it might we worth the effort to create something unique. If anyone has any thoughts on what colours the board should use, please post them here. |

Ahhh...interior decorating.
I like earth tones: burnt umber, loden green, pale yellow. They suit my fawn eyes...oh...that's dull-eyed.

I also quite like the current appearance, but it's the same as riddle-help as I recall (although the site is down at the moment so I can't check) - and Murphyz already uses shades of red while Riddle Planet uses a sort of sky blue.
What colour combinations are actually available without going to an enormous amount of trouble, Xyphic...??

Hmmm, not sure about that

But I definitely agree with this. If anyone wants a go...?

That's what I said (not sure Xyphic listened to me though )

cough-phpbb2.0.6isreleased-cough update now before you add any mods - much easier that way.

Thanks Murph (and welcome also). Xyphic is going to update tonight (we don't have FTP enabled at work).

Agree, colours need to be unique - although I do like my redness. It may be nice to see a different forum layout too, but I haven't bothered playing with mine.
Other mods to consider:
print topic
spell check
topic_anywhere This gives you the html to put on any page of your site and can give, for example, a list of the last ten threads that have been posted. I have a working example if needed.
Buddy List: This allows you to add buddies, ignore people and so on - save you getting a PM from those laggers. Again, I have a working example of this.

The integration between forum and site we have planned may well require we create some mods of our own. I guess by the time we've finished, we might even be able to implement user-requested mods ourselves!
Of course, this makes it extremely difficult to upgrade... |

Upgrading won't be a problem if you are an apt php-er.
The upgrades I think are easy to install so people don't need to know php to do it. If you have the knowledge of php you can see how the changed files of the upgrades fit into your existing sheet and you know which lines have become corrupt due to mods. It would take a little longer to install, but it won't be too big an issue. And seeing as how you have version six of the board, I doubt you'll need to upgrade for a while.
Saying that, I'm too lazy to upgrade cowandchicken and murphyz.

Yeah, upgrading wasn't a big deal seeing as this place is so new. PHP doesn't look too tricky, fortunately. It seems to have been based quite squarely on C - with a few nice features like associative arrays and such. |

If you change the layout, at least keep the current one as an option. I just like blues. _________________ Never give up, keep on playing

Okay, out of boredom I went into my profile and switched from the pleasant blues of "subsilver" to one entitled "puzzletome".
