As you are no doubt aware, I've been having problems with my forum software at htpo.  I don't have a clue what is wrong, I don't have any knowledge of php/programming but all I know was that it was working one day, the next it was broken.   I have contacted my host, but have had no reply yet.

I've checked all files against a backup I have and everything looks ok.  I am reluctant to install the backup as I wouldn't want to change something which breaks something else!  (The backup was from before Robin did work on the site)   I'm guessing, but I'm wondering if my host has somehow blocked the forum software from working as it is so old.  Is that possible?  I would really like to upgrade and have tried, but although I managed to install an up to date forum, the converter to copy over information from the old database to the new, unfortunately didn't work.

I have quite a few questions I'd like some answers to - have tried googling but nothing specific to my problem comes up.  Is there any knowledgeable person out there who would be willing to listen to and answer my questions?  I'm not asking for anyone to do the work for me, but would really appreciate someone to answer some questions for me and advise as to the sort of thing I should be looking for.  I feel so frustrated that I know so little and only wish I could understand these sort of things myself.
