Hi all

You will probably notice that at the moment the forum looks strange. This is because our service provider has very kindly (!) upgraded our forum software at short (no!) notice. Unfortunately, we have some customised parts to the forum, which are *not* updated. Xyphic and I are both at work at the moment and cannot make the required changes, so I'm afraid you'll have to put up with it as it is until this evening GMT. Normal service will then be resumed.

Yes I had noticed and was just about to raise the very same point.

Thanks for letting us know anyway. Thumbs up

I may be speaking out of turn, but I - and I assume other playtesters - can see empty forums.

If you can, I suspect posting to them is NOT a good idea Wink

Indeed. Apart from anything else, an admin type (mentioning no forum hardasses) is quite likely to come along with a big huge deleting type instrument and remove everything that's out of place. Evil or Very Mad

Surprised I see empty forums that really really shouldn't be. But I have absolute faith in the admin team and I'm sure when I get back later this evening everthing will be as it should be Smile

I was just wondering why it asked me to log in again. Hello, I thought, something's going on here, I said.

Has the same thing happened to puzzlefiles four hours before launch, I wonder? Confused

I think I've fixed everything now.

As usual, if you see anything that looks odd or wrong with the forums or the main site, please either PM me or email me at xyphic@puzzletome.com.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

don't you just love it when your server providers update software without advance warning, thought it was only ours that had that habit.

Don't know whether it's connected to your forum upgrade (it's only happened since then), but I've had 3 email notifications in the last couple of days informing me of new posts in threads I've subscribed to but when I get there, there's nothing new at all, in fact the last posts in those threads were over six months ago. Not complaining, just letting you know.

That would be where I've deleted a couple of dodgy posts from dodgy users (certainly if it was this morning, and I believe there were also a couple a few days ago). Thanks for letting us know. However, if the notifications were from topics that are not open to everyone (e.g. one of the contest discussion threads) then please let me know as that might be a bit more sinister.

Ahhh, I believe that would explain it. These were from general sections of the forum, and two were this morning and one a couple of days ago. Thanks for explaining.
