Would it be really churlish to suggest that you haven't quite got it right? Yes, of course the message you have decoded is obviously correct - but I'm not at all sure that the way you've assembled the letters is.

All the letters in the "puzzle" are in the same font, so have identical height and width. And there is a fixed and repeated pattern in the way the message is written in terms of the colour sequence ...

It was probably just the way it was cut and pasted, some programs differ in the smoothness when it comes to copy and pasting.

I thought there might be a pattern to the color of the letters but after cutting all those pieces out with the Free-Form Select in paint I was a little tired of moving things around. I know a lot of them look like they weren't put together right because there is some extra black sticking off or maybe I put the pieces of the letters slightly over each other. As you can see by the remains of the original picture I accidentally left off a bunch of some pieces as a result of my sloppy work. Regardless, I looked at the pixels at the ends of the pieces to make sure I stuck the right ones together and I think I have it right for most of the letters. The blue I and E in particular look weird but I think I just got too tired to bother cutting them out and lining them up just right. Embarassed

Besides, if this was a real riddle and the answer was just the message then I've gotten the point anyway. Very Happy

Very true - it's always the solve that's important rather than the way you got there. Smile

As a general hint on a puzzle such as this, the easiest starting point is to change the black background to white using the flood-fill tool - with a white background, it's much easier to overlay things because white in Paint is effectively transparent. In this particular puzzle, the sequence was (if I remember correctly) Red, Blue, Yellow, Green repeated several times.

I didn't keep a worksheet for this as it was only a bit of fun, so forgive me if I've got the sequence wrong... Embarassed

I just realized after looking at it again how easily I could have changed the background. Crying or Very sad

Just to make it look better I starting working at it again in photoshop this time... Magic Wand Tool makes it so much easier. Very Happy
