Puzzletome

It seems the moderators like Stretham and The Hirsute One have abandoned those seeking help. Looking for replies everyday but none forthcoming. I request the moderators to check their incoming posts daily and reply promptly. Waiting, waiting and waiting for replies have made us disillusioned with puzzletome.

Sorry you feel like that. In our defence, I need to point out that Puzzletome is a hobby site, not a job. We don't get paid for it (quite the reverse - all costs for hosting the site come out of my pocket and we purposely do not have advertising) but we do it for the enjoyment. It is a little unfair to expect us to work to your schedule when we have lives to lead. Sometimes it is just not possible to get online due to external factors.

A quick check through all of your posts would reveal that (apart from the last couple of days) all of them have had a response. And though it is just the two of us (myself and The Hirsute One) who administer the site, we will continue to get round to all queries as soon as we can.

Sorry Mehroon, but your post has incensed me!  I have always found Stretham and The_Hirsute_One to be most helpful in the forum and when posting I've always had a reply usually very quickly and definitely within an acceptable amount of time.  As Stretham has pointed out already, it is a hobby site and nobody can expect any administrator/moderator to be sitting at their computers 24 hours a day - unfortunately, real life has a habit of getting in the way of this.  I run my own puzzle site single-handedly and like Stretham, I refuse to include adverts and have also not accepted kind offers of monetary help.  The reasons for this are mainly that if for any reason I have to take a step back from writing puzzles or helping people in the forum, I wouldn't feel guilty or obliged in any way.  

I, personally, am just very grateful that Stretham and The_Hirsute_One spend so much of their free time writing and testing such excellent puzzles for our enjoyment and if I have to wait a day or so for a reply to a post, then so be it.
