1st May, so time for a new crossword (Modification). The solution for the April puzzles is available with the explanations to follow shortly.

Having trouble understanding what to do with these 4 clues. "Four of these should interpret it in one way, as part of the wordplay"(1A, 26A, 3D, 7D)
I got the other 4 "literal" ones.
Any words of advice?
