Time Marches on, so there is a new puzzle available for this month, entitled Badmouthing. The answers to the February puzzle are also available, and I shall endeavour to get the explanations in place ASAP.

My apologies, but I'm afraid that there was an error in the clue for 27a in this month's puzzle. This has now been corrected, so in case you are struggling then reload the puzzle for the update.
Many thanks to Craig for pointing this out to me.

The solution and explanation to the June puzzle are now in place. For July's puzzle, I have gone with a fairly topical theme (Social Distance). Have fun.

Hi
I came across this site yesterday (thanks to Dutchie) and solved the July puzzle. I'm not sure how it all works. I tried to submit my answer late on the 31st. It would not accept my submission. Is this because I had 1 letter wrong, or because I was too late?
I've got 3 answers to go on the August puzzle with one other questionable letter. If I get the other 3 answers, will my submission be rejected if I have one letter wrong, or will it be accepted so that I have lost my chance of re-entering the contest?
I'm really glad to have found this site. It's years since I have done themed cryptic crosswords, and know I will enjoy them. |

Hi minkie
minkie2020 wrote: | It would not accept my submission. | Having incorrect letters will not stop a submission, but we have had some issues with that process in the past. If you run into the same problem again then please contact me via PM with any reported errors and I'll see what I can do to help out.
Having said that, the submission part is primarily from when we were offering a prize for the monthly crossword (that stopped some time ago). So you are not really losing out on anything.
I'm glad you're enjoying the cryptics though. And I'd like to think that even some years later our interface is still better than most other sites.
