Please note that the incorrect word was previously given in the solution to 23d in Cryptic 2. This is now fixed.

Fixed a bug whereby the link to the January 09 puzzle on the solutions page was not being displayed.

Thanks to all the people who pointed out that there was an extra blank square in the bottom right hand corner of the March prize crossword grid. This has now been corrected.

Many apologies, but I've just noticed that there was an editorial error (now corrected) in the clue to 21 across in the May prize puzzle:
Previously: Finishes off finish off dines off (4)
Now: Finishes off one off dines off (4)
I've checked through all the solutions received and I don't believe it affects anyone. However, in the interests of fairness and since the contest is still open, if anyone who has already entered wishes to make a second submission then I will discount their first entry.

And even more embarrassingly, another typo in the May puzzle , although again I don't believe it has had any bearing on anyone's entry. In 8 across, 'loathe' should have read 'loath' (and indeed does now). As before, any resubmissions will be accepted if anyone feels affected by this.

I'm not having a good week. Themed cryptic #3 had a mostly missing clue for 2/14 down which is now in place. Although well done to The Hirsute One for solving it despite this.

Not so much an erratum as a clarification in answer to a couple of enquiries about the October prize puzzle.
For the thematic answers, if you have a *valid* word that fits both the grid and the 'harmonic result' then that word will be accepted, even if it is not unique.

Apologies if it has caused you any problems, but in the February prize puzzle the word length for 21d did not indicate that the answer is two words. This is now fixed, and many thanks to stozz for pointing it out.

In the October 2010 prize puzzle, the enumeration for 6 down was incorrectly given as (6,2,2,5). This has now been corrected to (6,2,3,5). Hopefully it didn't hold anyone up, and many thanks to JWawro for pointing it out.

Following some feedback for the April 2011 crossword, I can see that I have made an oversight in the puzzle construction. This applies specifically to 21a. All the submissions received so far for this clue have given the same answer, but not the one I intended.
Therefore, the 'alternative answer' will be accepted as correct, even though it may not match the given wordplay.
For anyone wishing to determine the answer I intended, the word 'major' (from the title) needs to be specifically applied to the puzzle.
My apologies to everyone who has attempted the puzzle, and I hope this hasn't spoilt the puzzle for you. Particular apologies go to my puzzle tester The Hirsute One from this forum, who highlighted the deficiency but I did not do enough to address the issue.

My thanks to JimFromMN for pointing out this error. The solution to the September prize puzzle erroneously indicated that 24d was TWIST. This should have been TAINT (Mark Tesla isn't common => Tesla=T, isn't common=AINT and Mark=TAINT). This is now fixed in the solution grid.

With apologies for anyone affected, but I appear to have a bad month! In the May 2019 puzzle there are two errors:
5d - Guts dispatched back to front
should read:
Guts dispatched front to back
7d - Reserved fourth grade
should be:
Reserved about after fourth grade
These have both been adjusted accordingly.
