For anybody that started their puzzling on Sparkplug's great site, it will come as sad news to hear that the site has now been closed. Due to a few reasons, not least the server’s IP being blocked by circumstances outside of his control, Sparkplug decided not to transfer the complete site to another server.
Farewell TPF - we will remember you with fondness and gratitude (especially the many of us that started our puzzling because of you).
RIP Puzzle Files. |

So sad. I remember chef Momo flying into our restaurant saying "wait til you see what I found". We were hooked. For the kiwis it was very special. There were a lot of us and to overcome the fact that everyone else was asleep when we were posting we got our own forum with ASA as our token Aussie. Thanks Sparky for opening the door to puzzling and making us so welcome. |

Hear hear to all the above. Labyrinth was the single inspiration for writing the Tarot contest, with its multiple different answers from the same puzzle. Groundbreaking is probably the word I'm looking for.
Still, if SparkPlug ever decided to do a Labyrinth follow up, there is always another puzzle website floating around.

So sad to see TPF go. It was my first foray into puzzling and it's through there that I found my way here.
Thank you, Mr. SparkPlug for such a great time.

Thanks for all the kind words.
As Harry explained, I was pretty much forced into the decision thanks to some idiots who had their domain hosted on the same shared server as me (and the host's reluctance to deal with the issues that created).
I still have all the code, the data, and of course the puzzles... so it may return in one form or another... one day |
