Hi all, I'm new here. The name's Fuzzy. I just stumbled upon this site.
And here I thought I was good at puzzles.... Right now I'm stuck on
Puzzle Contest One. Anyway, I have a few questions for all you Smart
People. It seems there must be more to the forum than meets the eye.
Yesterday I saw a lot of people on, but no new posts? Where is all
The action? Are there hidden sections I cannot see? How do I get myself
On those forums? I promise I'm not a spy. I just like to chat.
Meanwhile, I checked out the "Back to Basics" section. It was great,
Even if I didn't find it so basic, after all. The concepts were basic, but
Even the early-ish puzzles seemed challenging. Very humbling.
Time to move on... So - how do I get hints for these puzzles when stuck?
Your contests page says to use these forums, but I don't see any sections
Open for, say, Contest One, for example? Is it just because it's so old? I'm
Unlucky, as is usually the case somehow. Anyway, bye now, and Thanks!!! |

Hi Fuzzy
The way to get to see the relevant forums is to actually start a contest. As soon as you do that it will open up access to the forum associated with that contest. And then you will see *loads* of help.
BTW, despite its name, PT Contest One is possibly not the best place to start (it was our first contest and we've hopefully got much better since then). Try one of the themed ones if you want to ease yourself in gradually, for instance one of the Halloween or Festive Fun contests.
Hope you enjoy your time here.

Ah, thank you much, both of you. I now see the individual forum sections. This PT Contest One is kicking my butt, I've only managed to get to 1.05... oh well. I suppose I can start easier and come back to it later. Thanks again,
Fuzzy

The good news is that the contests are happy to wait for you and we will keep watching the forums to add hints if requested.
And if you really want to scare yourself, take a look at The Puzzle Files and get lost in the Labyrinth. |

Thanks. I'll probably hold off on that - no need to drive myself crazy just yet I'll leisurely peruse the Back to Basics section, then move on to simple contests... |
